It's also funny because the main complaint I saw in reviews of megaman games over the years was "it's basically the same as the previous games/not breaking new ground." Inticreates (developer of many megaman games last few years including megaman 9) doesn't seem to care cause they know fans will buy the game regardless of graphics because of nostalgia and being a cheap download.
I thought Megaman Zero (the first one) was very fresh for a megaman game (mission/story based gameplay, cyber elf system, connected environments, etc) but after that the games steadily got less creative (the following 3 MMZ games, MMZX series, MM9).
