His Dark Materials I thought was excellent.

Hunger Games... not so much. "The tales of Catfish Evergreen"

Admittedly I find H.P a tad overrated, though considering the fanbase were children that grew up with it, it makes perfect sense. And it is a fine series.

My only issue with Lovecraft, though everything is very 'concept' based, my major issue is everything is so damn FERTIVE in his work. He uses the word so much.

Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter was a fantastic book, especially if you are a history buff. The way he intertwined historical facts with vampires was hilarious and clever. Once I even put the book down and thought about if it was real...

Stephen King books are also all pretty good if you like horror
