Looking And Waiting For Something Special?

I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing if different countries have different rules- who would that really effect other then a tiny handful of top tournament players. As Jaxel said, it's about the pot monsters like myself- and I'm never going to be good enough to go to France.

you are a bit right here...to keep this game going we need the masses of casual players to get higher pots, but on the other hand top tournament players attract other top players. Look how Mick alone brought hype to SC4 again through his presence, if Malek wouldnt travel all the time SC4 would have been dead way way before. One international top player literally kept this game living longer. We should be all pretty grateful for what Malek is doing for the international community imo :) Dont underestimate what a single top player can do for this community.

And Malek again brings other top players like Kira, Dina to US torunaments. So imo its very important not only to please the masses of players but also to have the backup of top players when decisions are made.

Then you said that top players can just adjust to the rules, but it is not that easy. If character X is banned in Germany and nobody plays him on a good level, its pretty impossible to learn this matchup if you face an american player who has been playing this as his main for a year.

One thing I think we can agree on is to ask for the least amount possible of trophies/achievements requiring online? SSFIV has too many of those, many achievements and some requiring a lot of steps. Create 30 team match rooms? They only count after the match is over. Even if you have friends to help you, do you really want to go through that?

Honestly, the community is not going to be the one who decides if there is an arcade release or not. Game producers, specially Namco have a much better idea of the expense of an arcade release and the possible benefits of it. Its not even worth discussing.

Im not to worried about balancing, we've had two whole years of bitching and complaining. So much so that im sure namco realized Hilde needs to be nerfed as does Algol. Im pretty sure they also realize that SC is extremely unbalanced. They are professional game designers and they know how to appeal to a their certain community. Then again this is strictly my opinion. :)

Balance wise I just hope that there isn't a vast difference between the top and bottom. Whether it happens in other games or not, Hilde to Maxi is too much. In an ideal world the best characters would be around Kilik/Amy level and the worst would be at Mitsurugi's level. That way even if a character is bottom tier they can compete just fine and the top tiers aren't too much to handle.

Patches should be free because it would come to the point where people are playing different games if some haven't downloaded the patch. New costumes, stages, bonus characters and such they can charge for. We should try our hardest to push for a better game.

But aside from all that as a community there is a lot that we need to do in preparation for a new game. We have to do everything we can to make the game more popular and attract new talent. We can try to help areas with no communities develop, try to expand the existing communities, be as welcoming as possible and try to make things very easy for new comers to grasp. I remember starting out I was so lost even though people were friendly it was hard.

Also we have to be a better community. We have to be unified and actually act as veterans to set an example for new comers. We have to stop fighting each other on every little thing and stop creating emotional warfare, it really is not helpful and causes people to leave. If we cant be civil with each other we can never grow. Having rational conversations about rules and such. Some matters should be handled in private because when we just put it out there it makes us look ridiculous as a community. We should learn from other communities, SF for example. Look how prosperous they've been. The game being naturally popular helps but the way they've organized themselves and handled things makes a huge difference.

We all love the game so lets be a better community for the game we all adore.
