Laptop buyer's guide

Anyone who thinks Vista is a bad operating system is a moron. Its a GREAT operating system, its just not designed for OLD computers. It should be put on NEW computers only. So if you're getting a new computer, you would be a FOOL to put XP on it...

And Bloody Yang would weep for you.

I would first try and find a store that has this laptop so that you can get a good look at it before buying it from the net unless you're absolutely sure of the laptop you want to buy.

I don't know what your plan on doing with the laptop, but I wouldn't buy a laptop with an AMD processor because they are too weak.

There's also no mention of what version of Vista is being used, whether it's 32-bit or 64-bit. More than likely it's the 32-bit version which means that you will only be able to use 3GB of RAM eventhough it comes with 4.

Vista isn't all crap, but it would be dumb to put an old OS on new hardware. You can ride out Vista until Windows 7 comes out in 2010.

Here's a better version of the same laptop. I would spend the extra $300 for this one.

I'm was also in the market, and I decided on a Dell Studio 15. The backlit keyboard is too hard to resist (and that lovely slot-loading drive heh). Only $749, so I'm fine with her :)

Comment: Fuck Vista, make sure you're getting this thing with XP.

if i installed XP on there... i wouldn't be able to play Halo 2 =/

im mainly going to use the new comp to play some games, (CSS, halo, Unreal etc...) nothing really fancy like Crysis or anything... and also do college work on there (microsoft office stuff)... and thats basically it... until i graduate.

the last post really got me thing about DeLL... and i went to their website and checked out some of it. what really caught my eye was the Studio XPS 16 *drools* . i wonder if anyother sites sell that one for cheaper xD
