King Of Fighters Thread

rekano: xi was my third favorite just cause of oswald... holy omg just frame damage... clark was really nerfed in xi... but still good enough... and it had another grappler named tzoc... he was pretty good too... ralf was top-tier... and they also had duck king! the coolest thing about xi was u could do multi character combos that some even killed the whole bar...

my favorite version is 97... *clark+goro NO missed grabs = no waste of super meter = u r gonna eat it sooner or later = u r gonna die* after that its 01... *clark+goro with 2 strikers = massive damage grabs* i played ALL of the KOF games and i have all of them... 94-xi...

for kof 12 CLARK is confirmed in the roster... so yes i'll play the game... but i'm kinda disappointed that mai, k', oswald & duck king aren't back... seriously mai IS the MOST popular character in kof... and k' was the main character for 2 series... and i'm pretty sure oswald & duck king was 2 of the most popular in xi... but they had to use a gay ugly fat ass like raiden...

I decided to pick up a PS2 and KoF98UM(as well as GGAC+, pre-order)

I've always had a place in my heart for the KoF series, but the loss of Mai in KoFXII (my favorite character) is pretty hurtful. She was easy to play, fun to look at, and Im shocked at her absence in KoFXII due to how big her Fanbase.(Its bigger than those funbags on her chest and her junk in the trunk, combined.)

KoFXII looks like a good time still, and I bet you anything. If she isn't included on home ports, she could be DLC (I'd pay for in a heartbeat)

98, 99, 02, and 03 are the only KoF's I played. BIG fan of 98. How was XI?

I really wouldn't bet on Mai but who knows. maybe they're keeping console exclusives underwraps

game isn't even in arcades yet, and if they keep this release schedule it'll be out a whole 3-4 months before hitting console. So unless they are deliberately holding characters out of the arcade, I wouldn't hold my breath for anymore.

as for 11. It's.......different. I personally wasn't a fan(unlike previous KoFs, due to tag, more emphasis is on picking a good team rather than just picking who you like) but people still play it in the cali arcade scene so obviously someone likes the style. and it's definitely the prettiest game in the series.

98UM is the shit though. Krauser kind of ruins high level play(in that you see alot of him) but overall it's a really solid game with smart changes to just about every character

If you're looking into imports check out 2002UM as well. Even more of an overhaul than 98's and it's just great. Talking with some people about setting up sessions for the game in philly
