Here's my comment post I made on SRK:

"Thank you, Mindersaw, for the link to our congressman
I, for one, am writing a letter (via the link, https://writerep.house.gov/writerep/welcome.shtml) to them in response to this. As a gamer and a tax-paying, law-abiding voter, I am more than willing to tell these politiicians about how stupid and destructive this bill is. I’m just one person, but that’s INFINITELY better than NOBODY saying anything about it!
I encourange my fellow SRK’ers to do the same. Even if you’re not even in the US! Talk to these corrupt politicians, and we might be able to keep them from passing this insanely stupid bill. We are all enjoying this resurgence in the fighting game scene, and we shouldn’t let anyone get in the way of our livelihood. You like EVO streams? Spooky, ipw? Cross counter episodes? Starcraft? GET ON IT, this means you!

I hope I get to see a petition about this on the SRK front page real soon! What better way to show how many citizens oppose this bill? Do you have ANY IDEA how many people visit SRK on any given day?! I can see a petition collecting tens of thousands of signatures; we can then pass it on to greater outlets like IGN and Gamespot where the number could increase even more — by that time, these lawmakers will know exactly how we feel"

So what then it would be illegal to post combo vids or match vids and that kinda stuff?

This bill is so broadly and vaguely worded, that if you post random match vids or even copywritten background music for a youtube video more than 10 times in a six-month period, you can be prosecuted under a FELONY. The owning entity doesn't have to even be involved -- Namco may not care about you posting match vids for SC5 (or may even want you to for free publicity, which would be smart), but the government can STILL prosecute you without Namco's acknowledgement or consent, as it is a criminal act, instead of a civil act.

Check out this link if you want to do something about this:

Only if you make money off it. From the description as given there it seems more like it would shut down people who ran streams for profit, which would still suck since they bring us our fix of tournament play.

The bill is actually pretty well worded. If you clearly intend to make money off a stream, you are punishable. If not, no worries.

Also it only applies to repeat offenders. People who seem to wish to make a habit of it.

Also the material must be copy righted. Your posting match vids from a namco game shouldn't be a problem. Your posting the EVO match DVD would be. Make sense?
