Is it just me, or are gaming series getting worse each year?

Even long before I heard about VC, I ran into several glitches myself.

One time I launched my opponent and when he fell down, he fell through the floor. I could no longer attack him, he could not "get up", and the only thing left to do was wait until time ran out.

Another one was where I was fighting an opponent that somehow got upside down. Don't ask me how this happened, but everything was fine and the next thing I know, the character is hanging in mid air upside down. WTF?

Another one which happened frequently, for some reason every once in a while when there's a weapon clash, something weird happens and both players get instantly pushed to the edges of each side. Don't have a clue what triggered this one, because like I said it happened quite a lot.

And then there's this one time where I did a normal launcher move, and for some reason the opponent went flying SUPER HIGH, and didn't start to fall until a few seconds. I mean so high the camera couldn't keep up, and they floated "above the screen" so to speak. Fucking weird man.

These things happened enough that I couldn't really play very many matches before something weird like this happened, and when it did, it ruined the flow of battle.

And keep in mind this doesn't even include VC, which is a whole new category of game breaking glitches. These things I listed happened a lot without even trying to get them to happen.

So this wasn't a matter of "be cheap by taking advantage of a glitch", it happened whether you wanted it to or not, and it ruined the game.

So far we have ppl talking about past games having somewhat of glitches only. I havn't heard much such as game breaking like how some of the new generation of games are. So far it seems like ppl are more on the side of "Yes, games are getting worse each year." it seems like. It's just games from back in the day are now told that they weren't doing so hot as well, but atleast better then the future games, right or wrong?

I wish I had a question poll up between the two answers "Better" or "Worse".

Here's my reply. Games aren't getting worse, you just need to stop comparing the only decent or even bad games of this generation to the best of older generations. For every Metal Gear Solid or Final Fantasy you also had a 2Xtreme or Beyblade.

You're growing up, you're not finding new and exciting things all the time anymore. Just small refinements that don't pull out the sense of wonder or excitement they used to when the ideas or mechanics were completely new to you. At least these are my thoughts on why you might feel games aren't as good anymore. You've done it before.

You were so close, but actually the truth of it is that I'm not feeling it anymore. In my previous posts I mentioned Nostalgia. If the feeling becomes new, all I can say is "it better be good". The new content in games is good & all, but if its something turned out game breaking or missing, Nostalgia awaits....
