Installing xp on a external hard drive

I have a 20 GB external HD..Can I install XP pro on it??

I have a Toshiba Satellite Laptop with a Sata Drive..XP won't install on a sata drive..

That doesn't fix the issue that you are having which is you need to load your SATA driver before installing XP since it would be silly to try to do so from an external device. Or find a copy with SP2 or SP3 on it so it loads the driver automatically.
