Sounds like a simple yet promising idea of a book. You should also provide us with a sample chapter or a few pages to get the feel of its style. With self published books, I think sample pages are paramount.

BTW why didn't you go with traditional publishing?

I can do that... but it has to be on an individual basis. Because of the terms I had to agree to to have it on the Kindle, I can't have any of it readily available for download anywhere. While I understand it from their perspective, it's very sad. BUT, that being said, I can provide it to people on an individual basis because it doesn't fall under the mass-distribution heading. So, I can actually give you the whole thing, if you want it. Just send me a PM. :D

To answer your second question: It's incredibly hard to break into traditional publishing for a variety of reasons I won't go into here. Also, traditional publishing companies are on the decline. Amazon is an easy and free resource that still allows me to provide my work to everyone AND to pick my own price. It made sense on many levels. :)
