I play Guilty Gear because I like to feel bad about my execution.

I haven't played GG since #R, but I was a casual player...and was dissuaded from playing after a "friend" tried to push me into the competitive circles. I admit to being something of a scrub player, I played on a regular controller and I had to map a shoulder button to FRC. =P

Mained Axl, I was quite tricky with that 214P counter. Sort of dabbled around with I-no, Zappa, Eddie, Ky, Robo-Ky, Baiken, maybe a few others...

I still love the franchise. The music and art direction is still probably some of the most astounding stuff I've seen out of a fighter, but the game REALLY got a bit too technical for me to keep up. I ate so many Sol Dust Loops back in the day that it convinced me that I was really just unfit to play the game. =O

Man Venom is so fun in Guilty Gear. Ever since I picked him up in #R he's been my main along with Testament (I miss the old GD loops), Anji (I miss lame butterfly unblockables but two hit projectile is fun), and Ky (sucks).

#R on XBL sucked so good.

ADCs and FB Discs = YAY MILLIA! I miss her helicopter hair relaunches from X2 though.
Yeah, the change to her j.H was kind of a bummer... but I do enjoy the FB disc and comboable j.D quite a bit.

The fact that the characters each have extremely unique movesets and playstyles while still being pretty damn balanced is what makes GG one of the best competitive FGs out there right now, as zer0kage mentioned. But the required technical skill does scare people away. My cousin PTGeddoe has amazing execution and is in one of the biggest places for FG comp (Buffalo), but he got burned out on it because you had to be playing it nearly every day to keep up.

I dunno, I guess I've resigned myself to just watching GG matches (the depth of knowledge about every matchup and the game system that some Japanese players have is astounding) and playing casually.

I've only ever played GG on PSP. I picked it up on a whim and I don't even play the fighter on it (PSP fighter = crippled crabhands) but I do like that Streets of Rage esque sidescroller one :) funtimes.....thats my contribution :D

I hear you man. er loops are hard. :s
Heheh. Frankly, my actually isn't terrible--I mean, it's probably as good as I'll ever get it playing on pad with no decent competition--but dropping combos is an ever-present issue. I can't tell you how many times I drop his B&B air stuff. Rensen (FRC), dash up, 6P, 2S, SJC, j.H, drop. D:
