Well, what I meant was, why did they buy Sammy/Arcsys if they were just gonna scrap GG? What else does Arcsys have that Sega would rather keep than GG?

I beleive that they are making blazblue independent of Sega to show that they don't need Sega's licenses to be successfull. Sega only owns the GG rights as a side effect, they bought sammy for various other reasons.
