I guess I should post here.

I'm always shocked when I actually manage to break a throw online. Mitsurugi's 1A does get me a lot too, but not quite the same way Nightmare's almost always done. Usually it's standing back up in time to block 1aB instead of 1A that's a problem for me online.

Anyway, definitely browse the media here for Mitsurugi footage if you're interested in learning when it's practical to use a wider variety of moves. A lot of high level Mitsurugi players beat me when I play Siegfried by very carefully only using attacks that Siegfried can't possibly punish. That being said, he can't punish 4B either...

I'd already went through about 2 hours of the Mitsu videos on here before actually registering! That Belial guy doesn't seem too bad :p. I've actually got a pretty solid grasp on his moves and when to use them..I just exaggerated because I normally end up resorting to the same 5 regardless >_>

I did indeed detect a bit of hyperbole... and did my best to play along. :p I tend to have the same problem with my own favorite characters - I know the whole movelist except for a few odd moves I can't get consistently, but in the heat of battle it's hard to recognize good opportunities to use most of them. So, I just keep using the same small handful of moves that usually seem like the ones that will work best at any given moment. And that's how I get all the hate mail I do from people who say I' m spammer... :p

Seems like we may be at kind of similar points in our development, though I definitely wouldn't say I've put a lot of time into it so far compared to most other fans of the series.

Everytime I remember other moves in the kit, I try to force them into my fights...which normally result in me losing that round. One round I was determined to land Mitsu's kB over a low attack. Naturally I got perfected. Twice. Then I gave up with it.

You're probably ahead of me, the only thing that I have going for me is calling the mixups correctly the vast majority of the time. My execution leaves much to be desired, can't even combo a 3B, 236B. >_>

And most my time on the series was on the earlier instalments against RL friends...who were all god damn awful so I never actually learnt much. And the spammer mail, I get that as well! Makes me feel so special~

Oh, you'll definitely realize how good that one move would have been in that situation one second after it's too late.

Hi, there, Cynical, welcome to the world of Mitsurugi. First thing I recommend is when using 66BB, learn to delay the second hit and throw it out only when the first part hits and launches. It's probably the easiest hit confirm in the game next to one of Z.W.E.I.'s Brave Edges. If you throw the second hit out while they're blocking, you're going to get jabbed in the face.

Don't worry about being bad at the game even after sinking time into the series; I've played all six games and I still don't guard impact. *head hangs in shame*

Thanks for the welcome. That's actually something I'd worked out to do all by myself :D. Although I only worked it out accidentally, I used to do the first hit expecting it to be blocked then just grab them. One time I messed up the grab input and ended up doing the delayed attack...go figure.

And guard impacting...is something I used to be amazing at. I'm kind of annoyed what they did to it in SCV because I never remember to use it now. And I can't jg to save my life.
