Hi everyone, new to the SC series and well... fighting series in general. I've been more of an rpg style player. DA:O/2 M.E. and what not. But i bought this by happen chance to try out the CaS and really enjoy it. :) uhhh about me. Hmmm. I love sunsets and long walks on the beach and... jk jk :P anywho I consider myself a whovian(inbox me anything doctor who related.I'd love a good doctor who convo and love comedy movies. hence the name. I currently play Guild wars 2. and can always pm if you play. My favorite game series is dynasty warriors. been playing since 3. I've been researching the jargon for SC for a while and have been exploring this site for a few days. so I'm kind of understanding the basics. However (if not appropriate here I will delete) what do you recommend for the best button lay out? I like quick agile characters. so preferrably button layout for Leixia and/or natsu...I do love the basis/reason behind this website and considering I am still quite new+ never really played fighting games much. I could use any help I could get :P

Hey Stallyn, welcome to 8wayrun! I can't really help you with button layout for Leixia or Natsu because I play neither, lol, but SC isn't a very execution heavy game so it shouldn't be too hard for you to figure out what button layout works best for you. As far as learning the game, a quick tip I can offer is learning the risk and rewards, ins and outs of all of your moves. Knowing things such as the range, speed, damage, and other properties of your attack will help you tremendously in understanding your character's playstyle and options. There is a lot more to it, which DrakeAldan discusses in many of his helpful guides, but focus on what I mentioned for now.

Unfortunately, there isn't one for Leixia... at least not yet!

Welcome newbie! ;)
There's a learning curve so keep cool and keep fighting. Not only do you need to understand the dynamics of play but then you need to develop muscle memory. As far as button lay-out, that's prolly more of a personal preference. Find what's comfortable for you.

There is so much mechanics in fighting games (well this one at least) I was completely unaware of when i first started ehh like 2 week ago . No wonder I looked like such a hooligan :P. This is all very helpful. Thanks again for advice and video :). quick question though. For advantage and disadvantage. I understand the basics of it, but When they explain it and say something along the lines of "6kk punishes -14 on block." Its basically saying if you block and they are at a -14 disadvantage or greater because of said block then that means they are deemed "punishable" by the move 6kk?
