Help me Figure this Out

^^ It's sad that so many people think the effects of economic policy and such can be seen so quickly after implementation.

It's sad how apologists fish for excuses. If you're in charge of the country for eight years and things get worse you've got to hold some responsibility.

I don't know who you've been reading/listening to (or who did these polls) (or how) (or even what they claim the top issues are right now) but when the chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee, Rep. Tom Cole, says "It's time to change or Die." I don't think things are as rosy as you've lead yourself to believe they are.

Thanks for keeping me straight. As far as the opinions go people are siding with Reps.

Murphy goes on to cite that a scant 9-11% of the population still identify themselves with republicans. If you can't admit how serious your problems are, Al Franken is currently residing in a senate seat. Maybe it would be healthier to just let you think you're on top, like the old southerner who'd go out in his confederate colonel outfit everyday to the ripe old age of 93 and swear in front of the general store that the south shall rise again. I mean look who you've got at the head of the party now. Michael Steele, a guy who handed out signs reading "Steele: Democrat." when he tried to win an (failed) election in Maryland.

However....that is only matter of opinion. As far as getting on board with the Republicans there aren't that many because the Republicans have no clear message of gameplan. There are no Republican mavericks (not McCain either) that could stand up and get the country behind him or her. Even though people find Reps. a voice of reason...there is nothing worth following.

Short answer? Personal beliefs? Long answer: I'm a little busy to get into this philosophical thesis at the moment but if you want a blanket term or a series of them like "a love of god, country, apple pie and mud in yer' eye huuuurah!" You're not going to get them. It's not like you can say what makes a conservative a conservative and a liberal a liberal so easily unless you've found some arcane barometer that can quantify the exact number of some conservative or liberal molecules within an individual. There's multiple breeds of each genus with cross pollination occurring across the spectrum. For instance, I'd say your major branches of the republican party are economic (The Capitalist), social (The Ideologue) and religious (The Zionist/Evangelist). And a person could be say an economic conservative and a social liberal. It's much easier to say "this is a liberal or conservative policy" than "this is a liberal or conservative person". If you'd care to volunteer a list, be my guest. I don't tend to see things in such simplistic terms however.

Leberal and Conservatism have nothing to do with fiscal ideals. Obama is not liberal because he is driving up our debt to the tune of 11.5 Trillion. He is liberal because he views the Constitution as a flawed document. It needs new meaning for today's time.

A conservative however believes that the constitution does everything it needs to do. For instance...take the declaration of independence. (it is attatched to the constitution. without it we do not have constitution)
When it reads that "all men are endowed by thier creator" that says it all. It does not specify which God but rather leaves it open for freedom of religion. If you consider where the people of this country came from its understandable that they would not shove God down throats.

Then please justify the following statement:

Fine not perfect. I hated his stance on illegal imigration. More than anything he was week in his policies but strong in his beliefs. However...you cant allow your beliefs to interfere with politics.

The Constitution was designed so that its interpretation could be flexible. You don't have to view the Constitution as flawed to be a liberal.
