Help me Figure this Out

Why does it take our government so damn long to get everything straight? They need to do their part while we do ours.

And Bush gives all Republicans a bad rap.
That implies that the government EVER gets ANYTHING straight...

I hated Bush, and I'm not a fan of Obama either. I am totally against socialism. I am NOT against social equality; but socialism is the idea that everything can be better with government intervention and control. History has shown us that EVERYTHING (and I mean EVERYTHING) that the government touches turns to shit. We had a LOGN discussion about this a while back; and if you are interested, I recommend you read it:

The problem with spending to fix a recession, is that there's a good chance it will do absolutely nothing except make the problem worse. You can talk about increased consumption, and the money multiplier, but for everyone else the inflation (possibly increased taxes) will just have a more noticeable effect.

It's one thing to argue that spending now will shorten the recession, but its silly to argue that any kind of spending will shorten the recession. Quite frankly, I have not read about a single policy lately that made think "Hmm, that might actually do something." When we're talking about billions of dollars being spent at a time, I'd rather the government save the money for something that has a good rationale for being done, rather than just spending it in the hopes that doing anything will change something.

Yeah, also: Where the hell were these conservative budget hawks when Bush was actually causing all this deficit? When Clinton left office, he actually left with billions in surplus. Thanks for the Iraq war Bush, way to go!

And we could have paid for several wars in Iraq already under Obama. Dont start saying all of this is Bush's fault. The guy was doing just fine until he began caving into to the demands of the left. Its interesting that people slam on consrvatives and point to Bush as an example of what not to do when the reality of it is that during his last term he was more liberal than conservative with his economic policies.

So was Regan, but he's a conservative icon for some reason.
