Hi, I've decieded to start at fighting games, when i was a kid I played Soul Edge/Calibur and Tekken.
And recently I've tried Tekken and SC and watched a couple of videos of them and I like the competitive scene.
The problem is the following, Im still not sure which to play, I like the 3D fighters the most, and between the three of them I have SCV and TTT2 as possibles.
But, I need a point of view of both games, for what I've seen:
Tekken- I've seen a lot of complains about the poor risk involved in attacks that leads to a lot of health bar life combos but maybe the game is fair and that people are a butt hurts, I like the game generally but if you can lost almost all your life in a single combo...
Sc-The only thing im not sure is if there are a lot of people in Europe playing, from the videos I've seen the games looks way less retarded than Tekken.

So, if somebody caould explain me the difference between the two (preferably someone who has played both) i would be nice, thank you :D

Note: This post comes from a relatively new player of fighting games, so take it with a grain of salt.

IMO, TTT2s learning curve is steeper then SCV's (don't get me wrong; both games require lots of skill to play at high levels). However, if you are relatively new to fighting games, SCV might be friendlier in terms of inputs, frame data, etc.

TTT2 seems to use a lot of "diagonal" directions (like downback, downforward, Crouchdash, etc), so heads up if you're using the godforsaken xbox controller. (No experience with PS3, although it seems like the PS3 controller is much more suited for fighting games)

SCV feels more intuitive with regards to frame data and range because each char has his/her unique weapon that provides some visual indication of his/her fighting style. (eg it doesn't take long to find out that Nightmare is slow but has high damage output). On the other hand, every Tekken character fights hand to hand, so that factor of intuition in SCV is not present in TTT2. In fact, the majority of TTT2 characters have 10 frame punishers, so frame data in TTT2 holds more weight than it does in SCV (this goes without saying that frame data is still a vital part of SCV)

Obviously, there are more "concrete" differences like SCV's meter vs TTT2's rage, SCV's Ringouts vs TTT2's Stage Break, SCV's Guard meter vs a lack thereof in TTT2, SCV's single char vs TTT2's tag, SCV's shorter strings vs TTT2's lengthy combos and juggling, etc.

Overall, I think TTT2 has much more technical gameplay than SCV, although both games are really fun.
