I am known as Aaron Smith , and i've bein playing soul calibur 5 and reading this forum under the shadows , problem remains my W/L ratio is low (This does not bother me all that i lose , Losing is the key to developing skills as a player)

The problem remains i just don't quite understand the tutorials , any of them i read wheater i read all of them or none of them seem to match the consistanty of the game , I've tried fighting the higher ranked / More experienced players alot but to no avail have i've seen a significant imporvement in skill , the advice and Tips seem to never follow through and i'm not sure if its due to slow reaction speed or whatever , I am a Real time stratagy VETERAN and primarily a PC gamer , I do play Soul calibur 5 on Xbox live on the side however :D

Hello people :3

Welcome to 8wayrun FrostyarmyZ! And exactly! W/L ratio doesnt matter! its how you learn ^-^

well the way i got better, is i just threw myself at the strongest opponents i could find, and lost to them over and over and over again, until i realized that even though it wasnt showing, i was getting alot better. you wont realize you've made a significant improvement until you've taken leaps and bounds.

if you ever need any help in learning the basics of soul calibur at all, or understanding any of the theory behind the game(frame data and the like), or if there's anything you want to know about Siegfried, as the Siegfried Soul Arena moderator I am always here! and if there's anything you want to know about other characters, well i can help you there too - just remember my level of knowledge wont be the same as someone who actually plays the character, and most of the information I can give you will be from a Siegfried perspective.

And if you ever want anybody to fight for some online casual matches, well i'm here pretty much all the time, so i'd be more than happy to fight you!

I hope you have a great stay here at 8wayrun! ^-^

I thought Warlords Battlecry 2 was actually better in a lot of ways.

Wouldn't know, never played it. I am excited somebody knows what I'm talking about though lol. I was never too into RTS games. I played Battlecry 3 and Warcraft 3 and Starcraft once or twice. I really loved the hero-focused RPG system and story mode in Battlecry 3, which is why I preferred it to the craft games. I usually go more for strategy games like Civilization over RTSs though. I need more time to think XD

I've played tons of real time stratagy games , and i mostly play through lan on my PC through hamachi / Gameranger programs , (Major C&C Fan) , but play Tons of other titles streaching from Total ahhilation to Age of empires , i have not heard of warlords battlecry 3

You should check it out. Maybe. It's kinda old now, but it's still my favorite RTS. As you can see though, I haven't played many. I did play another called Heroes of Annihilated Empires... which was about as good as you'd think from the name.

W/L Ratio doesn't mean all that much. There are plenty of players (See: jovalray, for one) who disconnect from Ranked/Player matches just to get high W/L ratios, and it's usually very evident when you play against these people.

In any case, Welcome to 8WR! At first I didn't understand much in the way of the number-direction notation but now I have a good grasp on it. And a piece of advice; I think you need to play players around/slightly above your own skill level in order to get gradually better. Playing people way above your skill level won't yield many results, because you don't have a lot of leeway to try out combos or other things.
