Hawkeye defeats Keev to win MLG Fighter's Arena!

I am strongly against commenatators showing their affections for the players. It looks stupid and unsportsman. All this "America" shouts etc... when Kura played in Finals of USA Nats all crowd was against him, now Keev and Kayane play in finals and commenators root against them all the time. This just looks dumb. Stop pls.
With rivalry comes hype. If we were in France, as LP mentioned, they would've done the same thing. It's not stupid, it's pride in one's region (country in this matter.) Why not root for your representative?

I'm sure Keev and Kayane fed off the underdog 'feel' as well- any one with a competitive mindset should.

With that being said, USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA!

EDIT:
USA

Having commentated at international majors myself, I completely disagree: A good commentator has his own opinions on players, ability and who will probably win, but the moment that match starts, it should go out the window. A good commentator talks about what's going on, what could be going through the player's heads, hopefully get some hype and most importantly how it has progressed and simultaneously praise and criticise any especially good/bad moments (See me and Hyrul doing WGCCannes 2012 top 8). Truth be told, had Thugish come to cannes this year, I can't speak for other players who may have commentated, but he would have had my full support - he's one of the best SC players ever to live and I fully respect that (Even if he has no soul, lol). Watching players at that level truly is a privilage and the match is what should matter, not what fucking country they happened to be born in.

I know I'm not the best, but I can appreciate everything that goes into a high level match and that is what keeps me in the game - understanding that level of play and relentlessly working to achieve and surpass that level. NOT 'woohoo, we're USA, we're no.1' as we see in Marvel and Soul (see FRXV and pretty much any American stream, lol).

Like it or not people, place of birth doesn't make a difference, I know many US players have endless respect for players like Keev, even if he isn't from the USA and dividing players on such a trivial fact is frankly pathetic - times are changing, this dinosaur philosophy of 'we're gonna support X because he/she was born here by chance' is going and frankly I welcome it. The sooner that ridiculous differance is completely cast aside is the day this community will get stronger.

Respect to the America's, respect to Europe, respect to Asia, respect to Africa, respect to Oceana, we are one community, UNDIVIDED.

Did I say once it was disrespectful? Maybe I should expand:

Rooting for your favourite player I can understand. Rooting for someone who by nothing other than pure luck happened to be born near you is bullshit though. The community is global, no player should get more or less support because of where he/she comes from.

That fucking stupid ideology is exactly what caused the SU FSAK fiasco as I understand it.

Don't lie to yourself... as a whole, the Soul Calibur community is close. We all respect each other's skill, we all know who the killers are, and 90% of us are genuinely friendly. But, SCFR is it's own community. SCUSA is it's own community. Hell, there's even smaller communities within said communities (NorCal/SoCal i.e.) Just because you want your hometown(home country) player to take gold doesn't mean we're assholes. It means we have pride, and support OUR representative(s).

This isn't a bad thing. And quite frankly, most ya'll need to stock up on some tissues, because supporting your region/country/city/etc. will continue, no matter which 'community' is in question.

On a side note, we as Americans should root for Europeans during the Olympics- it's bullshit if we root for America.
