Hate Speech: Come to the Dark Side

My first SC tournament was a couple years back, a 19 person affair in a cramped lan cafe in Orlando, FL. I had the benefit of already practicing a few weeks against an offline player who was good at previous installments and managed to squeeze into 3rd before getting creamed by some nasty combo of local powerhouses Enkindu and Icekid, I forget in which order. Having gotten my entrance fee back on my first try, I was plenty enthused and went on to enjoy the SCIV tournament scene immensely.

/edit/ I should add I even got to meet the great Hates, although he might not remember me cause he spent the entire time I was in Cali calling me "Steve".
 
Would it be detrimental to this war effort if I admit that part of the reason I wanted to meet offline was because I didn't want to be mercilessly teased in the chat room ? That or having no one local to play made me pull my hair out.
