Hate Speech: Come to the Dark Side

I actually want to make it into the competitive league. They actually held casual tournaments at my old school year. I'd enter every time. The first and second time I went, participated in the SSBB tournaments, not placing in the first, made 3rd in the second. My last year there, I entered the MvC3 tournament and placed 2nd. Albeit, the players are usually just younger or less experienced. Last matches are always against a big hot shot or a brooding ace that puts my skills to the test. I never had the discipline to really put my nose to the grindstone and actually work and work and work for it. I have a feeling things will be different for SCV.

TL;DR: I wanna be the very best, do do do, no one ever was, do do do do, to K.O. them is my very test, to slay them is my cause. Also, I refuse to use arcade stick.

I'm always going to be curious about the high level gameplay in the scene and will support it...but knowing I don't have the time to dedicate to it like I did a decade ago will preclude me from going to tournaments. I know there are plenty of guys going to tournaments who have a wife and kids, go to school, have a job and STILL compete. I'm just not one of those guys.

As Hates has said, SCV in the competitive environment will get you high. Which means it is, in it's own way, a drug. Which also means you can get addicted. I already almost failed out of school back in the SCI days, so I can't get back on that SC crack at this point in my life. I'm not saying if I had time to train properly I'd win or even make a dent, but I'd at least know I placed where I should have.

I'm going to "like" this article because, as always, Hates killed it. But I don't want my like to be counted towards unlocking the "General Roster Speculations" thread.

After reading this, I feel all the more grateful for having players like KrazieCD and Soakrates in my area to play~ I won't let this opportunity go to waste either as i want to build more tournament experience. also traveling sounds fun now...as i had only bad experiences...but I look forward in getting out there and meeting everyone too.
