Hardest game ever

Contra III: The Alien Wars (SNES) 10 times harder than Contra on the NES with no cheats; play it and prove me wrong!

Contra Hard Corps (Sega Genesis) 20 times harder than Contra on the NES with no cheats; play it and prove me wrong!

Deadly Towers (NES) - people talk a LOT of shit about this game, and for good reason.

Karnov (NES) - the controls in the game were kinda crappy, but regardless some of the enemies were just hard to hurt

Alien Soldier (Sega Genesis) - this game is totally insane and explosive. the graphics, sound, and difficulty are off the chain. scope out the vids on youtube!!!

Shadow of the Beast 1 and 2 (Sega Genesis and Amiga) - man, this game is so hard it's sick. you only get ONE life, and it's so easy to take damage it's not even right. the game looks and sounds VERY awesome for it's time (check youtube for videos of it), but it's harder than a brick in the dead of winter.

Chakan the Forever Man (Sega Genesis) - you really had to know how to use your spells in this game if you even wanted to get ahead at all, and the elemental demon bosses were hard as HELL.
 
F-ZERO GX for the Gamecube.

Beating the story missions on the regular difficulty isn't bad, but beating them all on the Extremely Hard difficulty is damn near impossible. I kept trying for like months before I eventually gave up.

Then there's the new Call of Duty: World at War's Veteran mode. I don't know anyone who's ever beaten it. You can't walk like 5 steps without dieing, and the enemies you kill literally respawn again in seconds.
 
heaven or hell on DMC3 takes the cake for me... easily. 1 hit and your dead with crazysexyhard enemies everywhere! I somehow managed to beat the Cerbus and then couldnt get any further from there! its just too back DMC4 was a crock of ****
