Yeah, I do agree on the issues with SIGN's pacing. It was rather slow. However, I suppose my interest with it's cast of characters made it's slow pacing a little more tolerable for me. Also, due to the slow pacing, when things did pick up it made it that much more entertaining.
IMOQ's main issue was it's marketing. Selling a full game in 4 parts for $40.00 EACH is a scam. It's funny considering the series started out with being decently received by game critics. Later on down the line, the review scores got lower and lower, despite the game playing exactly the same as the first, as you were basically paying full price for expansion packs that only really advanced the story while the gameplay remained the same as the one before it.
The same applies with G.U. Only differences this time is it only being 3 parts for $40.00 EACH and the fact that they added minimal amount of gameplay changes with each new expansion. Ironically, the G.U. games weren't received by critics as well as IMOQ, despite the gameplay being a bit better. I suppose time of release was a huge factor.
Far for the new PSP game. I really hope Bandai does NOT do the same they've done with the previous two game series. However, knowing their story telling antics, and knowing that the PSP UMDs cannot hold as much data as DVDs, they are probably going to do the same shit. I, personally, wanted them to make a new .hack game for PS3 using their engine from Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm, cell shading and all. I personally think that would have been a much better way to end things.
