.hack//LINK PSP...here we go...AGAIN

CyberConnect2 is releasing another .hack game to go along with the newest manga in the .hack multimedia series. This one is being released for the PSP.

Below is a .hack series promo reel. The teaser for the PSP game is the first promo in the reel.

Teaser pretty much leaves you in the dark...outside of it looking like something a crazed .hack fan wrote in a fanfic.

I could type a rant about how much I dislike the .hack series now after being a fan of it in it's early stages, but I'm too lazy to do that right now.

EDIT: Lulz, typo in the title. Get rid of the "w" in "where" plz. thx

I'm also disappointed in the latest series.
The first one was for adults and teenagers who liked a little something different... (It's what gave me the interest in playing MMORPGs in the first place, because it was just THAT good.)

Then it seemed to have changed for slightly younger people... And it continually went down from there...
(At the same time, WoW was released. It might have a connection? Heh.)

"Where we go" has an answer. We're going to the Narutard level.
And they cancelled their MMORPG game in 2007... Although maybe it was hopeless anyway.
I lost all interest in .hack//.

Apparently, LINK is going to be the series closer. While I'm glad .hack is ending, LINK seems like a really weak way to end a series that started out so well.

The .hack series got progressively WORSE the more installments were released.

SIGN was excellent and still remains to be my favorite in the series.

The set of PS2 games, IMOQ (Infection, Mutation, Outbreak, Quarantine), I have a love-hate opinion on. I love the games for their story, characters, and gameplay. I hate the games for the fact that all four chapters (which were sold at full price upon their release) = 1 complete game. Bandai literally milked IMOQ for FAR more than what it was worth.

Next you have Legend of the Twilight. The anime was atrocious. The manga was much more enjoyable though it's story still did not live up to the excellence in the previous installments.

Then comes the next series of PS2 games, G.U. Like IMOQ, I have a love-hate opinion on this series as well. However, the reasons are different. With G.U., the overall quality of it's story and characters (while still enjoyable) did NOT live up to it's predecessors (mainly IMOQ). On top of that, yet again, you have the stupid marketing ploy that was pulled with IMOQ. This time, there were only 3 chapters as opposed to 4 like before. The only departments G.U. surpassed IMOQ in were voice talent and gameplay and the margin in which it did surpass IMOQ wasn't all that grand. Certainly not grand enough to warrant having to buy 3 pieces of a full game all for full price...EACH.

Next is .hack//ROOTS. This was released to coincide with the G.U. games as ROOTS takes place before the events in G.U. Bottomline with ROOTS: When you compare it's quality to that of .hack//SIGN, it fails. The characters lacked the depth of SIGN's characters and the animation quality was also not up to snuff. I'd rather have a well animated series with little to no action sequences than a ok animated series with poorly animated action sequences.

Finally, you have the .hack//LINK manga. LINK is shit and the story premise is something you'd expect from a fan-fic off fanfiction.net.

I basically agree. I've seen almost all of .hack sign, and a couple episodes of roots. I've only played GU (not through it all either).

Sign had a unique premise for an anime series, with good art, music, and characters. I could relate to a lot of the things the characters would say, having played online RPG before myself quite a bit (Phantasy star online series). The flaw with the sign was that it is probably the slowest paced anime I'd ever watched, and the dialogue got extremely repetitive whenever they were talking about finding the key of the twilight (which was the focal point of the plot).
