God of war III

You should probably buy it... the developers deserve the money for this game. Sure, it's not as deep as NG or whatever but it's fun as hell and it's infallible from a technical standpoint. And after you will be done with it, you will want to play it over again.

Had a nice time with the game. I noticed the beginning was far too exciting compared to the rest of the experience. More moments should pump me up like that. Oh yeah, the head of the sun god reminded me of the search beam from Super Metroid. And swinging around with the whip was like Castlevania, and gliding down the tunnels was like Batman. Puzzles were still a nice change of pace. The Hades weapon was totally useless, though. Only good weapons were Exile and Hercules' one. I also approve of having buttons to the side of the screen during an action sequence so it's less thinking and more watching. Solid game!

I just beat it.

IMO I think this game is overrated. 9.5 on Gamespot? Game sites are giving out good scores too easily these days. I definitely don't feel this game deserves a 9.5. More like a 7. The game was good and fun, but it didn't really bring anything new or original to the table. It just felt like the same game rehashed. I actually enjoyed part 2 more than this one. To be honest, the only part I really liked about this game was the beginning against Poseidon, and some of the boss fights. The game has epic scenes but lacks an epic story. It's like they didn't put that much effort into the story. And the ending sucked.

That's my vent on the game.

Oh, and fuck Zeus.

Give me one good franchise that completely reinvents itself with every new entry in the series. The game is getting the praise it deserves. I've played it 6 times on various difficulties and it still appeals to me. IMO they did what should be done and that is staying true to the core mechanics while improving the minuses. The story is nicely wrapped up and from a tech standpoint the game is a gem unlike, say Bayonetta...
