Getting High Hurts Your Gaming Skills...

I do think everyone is different.
For most people who fight better stoned, it may be because they are so used to this mind state (smoke alot) that they are, of course, going to play better when they're in this familiar state. As those who aren't as used to the head change (aren't high all the time) suffer from it's effects while playing.

However...
I'm not sure how to explain the rest of us. I don't really smoke that much, but when I do, though my social interactions may suffer, I seem to focus... differently. Opennings seems longer, attacks easier to dodge, moves executed almost before I decide to do them. Also I seem to get "merciless" -an unfortunate trait when your opponant is one to easily give up.

I'm not saying drugs make anything Better. This is just the effect it has on me.

Super Smash Brothers Brawl has that awesome "Pause and Take a Picture" feature I wish was in more games. Most of the coolest pictures I have seen (in that game) have been random "Pause for the Cause" moments where you see a cool picture waiting for your hit.

Drinking, however, doesn't seem to help game skills at all (which makes sense -though there are Drunken Masters). That's why when we play "Drink Calibur" the winner drinks. Evens things out a bit.

Halucinagens? I get distracted pretty easy when I'm sober! I remember playing someone in Soul Calibur II, while I was tripping, and in the thick of damage exchange put down my controller to see where my cat had gone.

i used to do my best looping high. problem is my defense takes a serious hit as well. SC and SC2 i played great high. SC4......not so much. it did help me come up with peanut butter and marshmallow cream sandwiches though.

lol the old peanut butter and marshmallow creme sandwiches huh. can't go wrong with those. if you haven't tried one they are very good.
