Game of Thrones Discussion Thread (Books and Show)

I really wanted to see naked Joe Dempsie.

Watch Skins then.

FF9 is just beautiful in every way.

Replaying it, there genuinely isn't a bit of it that I don't like. All the areas are perfect, the music the characters (aside from Amarant. He adds nothing) and the pacing especially. The jokey funtime pantomime beginnings before it turns into a dark operatic end... It's just so good. (Though I'm in denial about the ending.)

Also, thanks Landslide, you got me that "2000+ likes" trophy thing. You made me a Hero. =|:'})

Hah! No problem!

Also, I'm a big fan of certain Square titles. I feel that FF9, FF12 and Vagrant Story are nearly perfect experiences. Everything about those games just comes together perfectly.

I really like the music in FF7, but that game doesn't hold up as well as those other titles, in my opinion.

12 was great, though I always felt it was playing itself, and it got a bit repetitive at times. (A feeling I, conversely, did NOT get with 13), but I loved it all the same. Never played Vagrant Story, and I'm still trying to get hold a copy. At this point I'm tempted to just emu it.

7 is a huge case of nostalgia for me. I loved it back then, but it hasn't aged as well as a LOT of people seem to make it out to've. It was a great game at the time but, there were other games of the same period that I could still sit down with today. (Breath of Fire 3, for example, gets me all kinds of wet.)

Apparently they'll remake 7 if they ever make a game that they feel matches or tops it. Which with all the spin-offs is never going to happen.

I hasten to add that X was beautiful too!

For the sake of relevance and because I know SophieChan is already furious over the notifications not being GoT related, I think Hodor is related to the the great Other or whatever he's known as.
