Forza Horizon

Launch speeds arent that big of a deal in Forza unless you are drag racing. In forza style racing you are always gonna be at high RPM haulin ass at all times. So Id say the race tranny should be fine.

I would try to see if you can test the difference somehow. Like set up a long strip of road, race it with the sport tranny then race it with the full race tranny. Theorectically you should see a time improvement from the 2 trannys.

Race trannys WERE adjustable in the other forza games. You could adjust the ratios to make it a 3,4,5,6 speed at whatever gearing you wanted. If you werent smart enough to fuck with that sort of thing, you would stick with the sport tranny. Being that there isnt any adjustable trannys or differential gear ratios, I dont see a point in the race tranny. But you should see the car shifting at higher RPMs and able to "grab" those RPMs faster with the race trans vs the sport. At least i would hope so, caue thats how a real race tranny works LOL

The only point in a race tranny in Forza H is to raise the top speed of cars that are limited by a transmission that has low top end ratio. Examples are... every muscle car in the game (Any 8 cylinder American car from pre 1990 that's RWD has this problem), rally cars (Ex. Audi Quattro, '95 Subaru Impreza, all of the Lanica). In previous games you didn't need a race tranny to solve this problem, it was as simple as using a sport tranny and setting the final drive ratio to your desire. I'd do it to keep muscle car's default gear ratios while having a race tranny top speed.

Other notes: Upgrading the displacement raises the redline RPM. Upgrading the flywheel makes your car more responsive to the throttle. Clutch and tranny upgrades only make you shift gears faster(discounting the race tranny top speed increase on most cars). I forgot what the drive line does and I don't think the differential does anything on Forza H. The differential can't be adjusted so I really can't think of what it's used for besides lowering your P.I. by like 1/8th of a point to barely make the class you're going for. I only upgrade because the 1 point P.I. decrease cancels out with the increase you get from race drive line.

huh. I thought that maybe since this isn't a true "sim" racer that an old muscle car with maxed out horsepower might actually be controllable in this game. But it seems that 1,040 bhp is still a bit much for a '70 Mustang even with all the handling and suspension upgrades. Oh well. :p

With the lack of abilities to adjust suspension and gear ratios. I dont see how it would ever be drivable.

Well I guess I should ask. Can you adjust suspensions?
