On topic, the game *IS* linear but it ain't a bad game. Not as FF8 or 10 but let me say something.

FF1 = Linear
FF2 = Not linear
FF4 = Not linear
FF5 = Not linear
FF6 = Not linear
FF7 = Linear
FF8 = Not linear
FF9 = Linear
FF10 = Linear
FF10-2 = Not linear
FF12 = Not linear
FF13 = Linear

It changes from game to game. Not a big deal. The absence of towns is more annoying and Vanille's cheapness but other than that, the game is ok.

Where's FF-3? because it's LINEAR.

and FF 10-2 sure as hell is LINEAR and SHIT

Haven't played FF3 so I can't comment on that one.

And FF10-2 is not linear at all. Just with the select mission and the choose not hotspots for the 100% event, makes it non linear inmediately.

No FFX-2 hides itself in that mode, just because you can go places not important doesn't mean it isn't forcing you follow a line. Otherwise every game with a world map would still fall into it linearity.

I just hope that the 5 years they spent on developing this game is worth my money...
