Proof; The entire game is like that from start to finish except one location which is Gran Pulse. This
The game has been out for at least 3-4 days and people have beaten it already. I myself have been following three live streams on the game of japanese people playing it and it is indeed 100% linear from start to finish. There is a number of issues with FFXIII that throughout the entire experience make it one of the worse FF's ever created and its frustrating because of how long the game took to be finished with all the secrecy over the years. The game really does have a lot of issues but I didn't come here to get into that I just came in to say that the game is 100% linear. No deviation at all except Gran Pulse (one location).
If u want more info on the game and its system I can provide it for those that want it.

does it really honestly matter if the game is linear? isn't FFX like that? and the person who directed this game the same guy who directed X? as long as the game is fun, that's all that matters in the end.
i think the person who was saying people will bitch about anything is right.
for a couple of positives:
CG and Ingame tranisitions are lovely.
i heard no forced install and load times are still relatively short.
and the game plays like a dream.
and in closing, heard it's very fun to play.
does it matter if its linear? as long as someone who's playing it is having fun. does it matter?
yeah.. you're just nitpicking and bitching. shut up and play the game. enjoy. or don't.
i'm sorry. people are into that GTA thing with the open world sandbox bullshit these days aren't they?
and that's why some people considered FFXii to be epic fail right? meh. doesn't really matter to me.
oh yeah, and i've played it as well at Yongsan. pretty fun game. i'll pick up the english language version when it comes out though. I'll have more of an idea as to what i'm doing then.
