Fighting Pads, and Joysticks, and Madpads, or whatever you call them.

I really want to "up" my game in SCV, and I feel like the PS3's default controller does a real number on my fingers (skin peeling off. Go figure).

Well, I need some help finding a decent, but cheap fighting pad, or maybe joystick. Joysticks, I believe, tend to be on the expensive side, so I'm a little skeptical on buying one. Plus, I hear there are a few bad ones out there.

Fighting pads are a lot cheaper, but I'm not sure if they are any better than the PS3 ones. I found these in Gamestop (I know, I know, GS is horrible, trade-in value is crap, customer support sucks, save that for another topic) but I'm not sure if they're are any better.

Now, I know Joysticks might be the better decision, but I'm on a tight budget here what with the rent, electric bill, and all that joyous bits. That is, of course, there's actually a decent joystick with the generous price...

Help is very much appreciated, and thank you.

You could do a PS2 to PS3/360 converter. It's cheap if you have a PS2 controller lying about and don't have to deal with synching and desynching your controller when you start and win/lose a match.

Cheapest joystick that is good is going to run you around $60, and thats the MadCatz SE, you can find them on craigslist/SRK trading outlet and other places that deal with secondhand products.

Another option are the MadCatz Fightpads, those run about $15-20 used, $40 new.

The Hori Fightpad is another route, I personally have heard less about this one than the other two, but there is another thread here talking about how good it is.
