E3 2014

@Gatsu See, the problem with that statement is that not only did Sony show a ton of none gaming info, (numbers, tv, etc.) Majority, and I mean MAJORITY, of their games weren't even anything of quality. Bythat I mean there were more indie games than anything. Now ddon't get me wrong, indie games can be good, many have proven this, but there as to be a limit. Who wants to see 3/4s of a conference filled with nothing but indie games? How many people really bought a ps4 for hotline miami 2 or whatever that fish game was. Think of E3 as the superbowl of video games, where huge announcements, big titles, and new franchises are announced. Sony had what, two good titles announced? And I believe only one was an actual exclusive (The Order, which does look pretty great). Then there was the plethora of indie games, a remastered version for a game that has barely been out for a year, news from games announced at last years E3, overall it was just a huge disappointment.

Bloodborne looks interesting on the Sony side. (Though if you dislike Dark Souls that's not gonna be very exciting for you.)

Also got into the Destiny alpha and dinked around with the campaign aspect a bit. As it stands, there really isn't co-op as one would expect. Unless you team up with pals, it's kind of a random free for all with people doing whatever whenever with minimal interaction.

The enemies are dirt stupid and the main threat is having them respawn on top of you 30 seconds after you think you clear an area. (Got killed the first time while trying to spend level up points in a menu.)

The basic world has a pretty broad scope however and there and plenty of hidden caves etc to poke around in though they usually equate to instant death as super leveled enemies seem to really enjoy dank places. So you find a cool new spot, well that's nice but you're going to get torn apart by a horde of xenomorphs that laugh at your garbage damage output while a wizard blasts you etc.

Alpha's level cap is 8 so there's no good way of actually exploring the tougher areas. Oh well.

The main excitement comes when everyone runs to a special event which amounts to a boss battle. The two I've encounterd are super tough (Hit them for 2 minutes straight and whittle off 10% of their life kinda tough and they hit HARD) and take forever with the weak character levels and gear you can get so far. Usually they take a beating then they just bop off with you accomplishing nothing since the encounters are timed.

Minor update: Really liked the Strike mission. Kept me busy in a good way. I've uploaded that to the YouTubes in a playlist:

I totally agree with you :D
My first post in this thread got
" Lol at corporations love for Indies, anybody with half brain can see that is just cheap move to pretend that the industry is still for the true gamers, while risk almost zero $$$. Good publicity at zero cost, lol, the fat suit ceo fap dream."

I don't hate indie, on the contrary, one month ago i was in talk for a indie project (as concept artist/chara designer)...
But for us as a gamers (specially the one that don't want buy the whole AAA shoterz gritty cinematic bs) indies are a fucking tragedy

Not the indies itself of course, but they are giving to corporations the excuse to stop to give fucks/invest at all about any thing outside the AAA prototype.
They are more than happy to left to the indies the role of "being original"
Think how many times you read these days that "indies are covering the mid-tier games"... yeah covering my ass
Truth is that 9 on 10 indies in 2014 on powerful systems don't reach the quality level of PS2 (or even PS1/Saturn) "mid-tier" games.
And not only appearance, also gameplay and gamedesign usually lack the deep of stuff made by actual pros

But again, for the corporations it cost near to zero and made them look friendly, original and 4tehgamerz... no surprise they keep blowjob the trend.
Meanwhile Plats ask help to do Bayo2 and both the big guys say "no"

The industry has been moving to AAA only for a while now. Indies aren't giving them an excuse.
Indies did'nt make them move to AAA bullshit ($$$ and bad taste audience did), but indie are giving them a good excuse to no recognize/fix the problem.

If there was no indies true players will call them out for theyr bullshit, and MAYBE they will be more inclined to drop some little money just to save the face an promote themselves as true gamers best friend aka #4tehplayerz

But no, as today we have that joke with the big corporation throw out of his pocket a bunch of cheap indies and a pink glassed community of nerds that find so cool blowjob anything have attached the "indie" edgy medal on it (group that for whatever reason seem to represent ALL old school players, when actually they don't), giving the perception that today market have lost nothing, because if you don't want jump into the awesome gray gritty AAA dudebro shit "you can ever play indies!" and everyone is happy.
Dat "Indies are fulfilling the role of former middle-tier games" mantra.

Bullshit

And even the "middle-tier" adjective itself is bullshit, since before that ps360 mainstream gen there was a lot of games that got absolute, no "middle" in any way, quality and pride without be/wannabe absolute blockbusters

Any player over 25 (over 20 too?) with a minimal knowledge can see the void in the new industry, and how pathetic (on reality "smart", pathetic is who believe them) corporations minimize the prolem throwing zero-cost indies at our faces

Basically you're correct saying indie did'nt caused shit, but as now they are kinda an obstacle on the way to solve it

And to be clear again, i don't hate indies... one of the things i was waiting more for E3 was see if they have a new trailer of this
