I'm not really fond of any of these new names either... Wii U or PS Vita... Nintendo university or Sony PS sandwhich. Take your pick. But then again, it'll take some time to get use to it. I remember when Nintendo announced their current gen back in E3 2004 as "Revolution" and accepted, then they announced it as "Wii" officially at E3 the following year. Wii? My first thoughts were "Why?" but you get use to it I guess over time...

Only watched part of the Sony conference, don't have time to watch more and don't really care much for the other conferences hearing what people have been saying.
For the most part Sony's was great Uncharted 3 looks fkin amazing and R3 looks promising given how big of a disappointment R2 was (hoping R3 is closer to RFOM). Still not buying the move though, motion controls are still a gimmic and so is 3d. I don't know about the price of 3d glasses but I had to say I lol'd when they announced they'd be releasing an affordable set of 3d glasses and then said the independent value was $80 or summet....

the entertainment industry has been trying to get the world to accept 3d for a while now.. it's just now that technology can accommodate 3d far more easier than before.. also, AR is nothing new... if some of you might remember, I told you and posted youtube links to a lot of augmented reality shit around 2 years ago cause i was doing research on it for a project. anyway point is,
way i see it, motion controllers, 3d.. are just steps closer to getting an actual holodeck.. and when we start seeing that type of shit... will you still call this shit a gimmick? technology is moving us that way. besides, if the technology is there in the machine, why deny it? it was built for that type of shit. i say play with it and have fun. i'm waiting for the day i don't need glasses to play 3d shit.
