You unlock different tiers of weapons by completing the story past certain checkpoints that are hidden quiet well.

I see. The thing was that I didn't know where any place was and I would usually just get lost and have to back track all the way back to Gran Soren. Also are there other towns where I can buy weapons? I have a broadsword and Stilettos for my character and my pawn but I feel like I should be able to get better armor and weapons already.

Juez, if you're on 360 then add me man. You can rent my pawn, she can escort you for a while. And yeeeeeah, they do make you use crappy weapons and armor for a long time. Too long imo. I actually got really good at the game and went into areas I had no business being in, you can find weapons there that are pretty good a lot sooner than they'll let you buy them.

As for other towns there are some encampments and army garrisons where you can buy stuff. Clear the mine of ogres if you haven't already and a pretty decent weapon shop/general store will open up down there for the miners.

Aww I did clear out that mine before my game deleted itself. Also I'm on the ps3 and apparently my friends brother has a pawn that is completely maxed out so if I wanted to I could just let it do all the work. I want to do things the "right" way though.

What the hell do you go against ogres? I killed all the ones in the mine but I did a couple of times and those bastards were messing up my team. I killed the one in the Everlast when I was at lvl 18 by climbing on it near the edge and letting it fall to its death.
