Do not go see the SF movie

Alright, I'm probably going to get flamed for this, but here goes...

I am so freaking tired of hearing about how bad this movie is. Was it great? No. Was it decent? Certainly. I would give it a solid 2 out of 4 stars. It was just your average mindless action movie. Stylistically, there is absolutely no difference between this movie and 90% of the comic book movie adaptations on the market, save the source material. And yet, every freaking site I go to says how horrible it is, and I'm tired of hearing it.

Do you know the real reason this movie is panned by every would-be Siskel and Ebert? Because of preconceived notions of video games movies. Just because every single video game adaptation up until now has sucked, everyone went in looking for this movie to fail. And, surprise, surprise, everyone saw exactly what they were looking for. True, the first Street Fighter movie was filth incarnate. But anyone who tells you that The Legend of Chun-li is anywhere remotely as bad as this horrible excuse for entertainment probably can't figure out how to guard on Soulcalibur.

Do yourself a favor: go watch the movie again, but make up your own names for the characters. Pretend Chun-li is just some random Asian chick. Make up your own names, I don't care. I guarantee you, if this movie were not a video game adaptation, it would be remarkably unremarkable. Given its meager advertising budget, you probably wouldn't have even heard of it. But, because everyone likes laughing at the fat kid on the playground just because that's what everyone else does, it's become the laughing stock of the Internet. Abandon you damned preconceived notions and freaking think for yourself and you'll see that this movie is not as bad as everyone says it is.

Best part about the first SF movie was how they got into their costumes to flee Bison's base.

"Ok I'm going to free Blanka now. Time to take off my clothes...."
