sorry but you got it backwards, the first DMC games werent exactly a masterpiece but anything is better than this reboot's story, they are both cheesy, but the originals were meant to be cheesy, but they were entertaining. Dante always had a funny comeback to a boss trying to put him down and sometimes he would laugh at himself too. I mean who didnt want to see something try to Intimidate Dante but then fall flat on his ass because he had a clever comeback? Whereas this new donteh's best comeback is "FUCK YOU". Really NT? Thats the best you can come up with? It sounds like something a 6 year old online CoD player would say. Its cheesy but not entertainingly, it makes you want to rip your eyes out of their sockets. Also there was really no need to reboot the series because it was still doing good, DMC4 was amazing, maybe not as amazing as 3 but still a damn good game.
 
Dante was a Demon Hunter people for Gods sake he had many jobs and one didn't had to connect with the other, life is not linear many things may be happening at the same time don't mean they don't connect.
 
Just finished watching a playthrough of the new game. There were a few points in the story that were WOW good. But that is about it. The first half of the game was....meh...
Still not a huge fan but I will acknowledge this as part of the DmC series. Maybe they can give the characters a bit more...style...in the next game.
Might even consider buying it now.
