DmC Version 2

I have got to be the only person who thinks dmc1-4 story is good. I absolutely LOVED 3's story as well as 4's.
I watched a playthrough of the new one and the story is just meh to me. It is not keeping me to interested so far but I have a bit more to watch. The only other problem I have with new DmC is that is looks and plays really easy compared to the old ones XD. When I rent it I will have to play on the hardest difficulty they give me.
Don't worry, you're not alone. Honestly I'm surprised that the game needed a reboot to begin with. I didn't know there was anything wrong with originals.

The thing I hear complained about the most in dmc1-4 is story but if you are like me and have played all of them and seen the animated series it all connects very well and is just interesting to watch/play.

I will give the new one a chance now though. When they first announced it though I was like....nope XD

Really? It all seems pretty disconnected to me. Let's see how bad my view on the canon is...

3: Starts everything out.

1: Mundus crushed, Vergil appears but Dante doesn't recognize him/Crapcom didn't decide to make him a full-fledged character yet and he stays in hell, Trish joins Dante.

animu: Somewhere between 1 and 4, nothing important happens but Lady serves as a supporting character because she can.

4: Lady and Trish are supporting characters, standard demonic world domination plot by a pseudo-Catholic evil religion foiled, Nero introduced as apparent son or reincarnation of Vergil.

2: Dante forgets how to speak and saves the world from some crazy Japanese businessman. Trish apparently wasn't interested in saving the world this time, Lady and Nero obviously couldn't appear since this game was before they were introduced.

So we start at 3 and end at 2, right? Making sense of all those plotholes and writing mistakes feels like trying to make sense out of comics with all the time paradoxes, multiple dimensions, and all that...It hurts my head =.=

For 3 you just put starts everything...i mean yeah you can say that it does but 3 is the most important story wise of any game. Dante finds the devil inside of him, meets lady and makes the mistake of not saving Vergil which he regrets at later times. In the animated series he saves the world :/ I thought that was kind of important XD. In 4 Lady and trish are supporting characters but trish is undercover for the first half of the game to keep an eye on Nero.
Idk they could have been connected better but I thought the story was.

No Wandrian you're not wrong in thinking it's disconnected, because it truly feels that way.

The original DMC story is terrible, you can think it isn't all you want DarkRhythm, but it is. It can connect fine, i mean that's the basis for a good story, it has to flow together. But this barely does and it's bad. Because it was never meant to be good, because they didn't care.
God the DMC anime was awful too, friggin Madhouse ruining shit even though i KNOW they can do better. Love that soundtrack though.

As i'm running through this game as i type, by mission 10 i was more invested into the actual characters in this game than they even tried to make you in the first 3 games.
However i also miss old Dante...... sure new Dante is also witty and sarcastic and an ass. But DMC3 Dante was THE SHIT.

And the game was rebooted because the original series had run dry, the creator moved on so it's not like he was creating new ideas for his franchise. DMC4, although selling more than the original 3, still didn't net them a lot of money so Capcoms in house development team didn't want to waste time on it.
The only way another one was going to be made was if a 3rd party developer took the reigns and created something new. And so that's what we got.
