I bough this a couple of days ago because of boredom. Its the first DOA I play since the original DOA in psone back in 1996 Im enjoying it hardly (I guess because Im a pervert XD) and I really like how fluent the fights are, but I'm having problems to adapt myself to the game, cause is based more on counters tan anything else and I'm more the "brainless attacker" kind of player.

Can you suggest me some chars with "smash button and see your character doing things alone" or "lot of damage with single strikes"?

Until now Ayane, Rig and Bayman seems to work well for me.

For easy dial-a-combos, use Momiji, Hitomi, or Mila.

For single strike damage, there's no one better than Leon, but Ein's a close second.

i wouldn't suggest mashing combos for Momiji or Mila. momiji does have a braindead setup but it's based on mixups and not necessarily damage. Mila doesn't work cause she requires a lot of input combinations and timing to make her scary as well as predicting the opponent. if i'd suggest someone that is mash friendly i'd definitely put Rig, Alpha, and Hitomi up there. hell, even Eliot has long combos that can come out without fully knowing what you're pressing. you'll be predictable but that normally comes with mashing buttons in the first place. i recommend picking a character that interest you and taking them to practice mode to learn moves, combos, etc. in this game you can really make any character do well.

I've been trying Christie and is also really sweet for smashing buttons :D

Of course that's my intention at long term but right now I'm familiarizing with the game, so I look for "fun" to get attached to it, once that I'm attached I can start to take it a bit more "seriously" and train with a character.

Animation re-use is actually pretty common in this game. Several characters literally have the same exact animations for various moves.
