Eh, I know it's not much since it's a local tourney, but I can proudly say that I just won my first tourney for DOA5. Last year I came in 3rd, but it's nice to be on the winning side of Grand Finals for once.
I look forward to how future tourneys turn out!

Local tournaments are a good way to test your progress in the game. They do not hold the same amount of worth as winning a major does (obviously), but they do hold worth.
For me, I just treat every single local tournament I attend as a means of testing my own progress and see how consistent I can be in tournament play. All in preparation for majors.
