My chief problem with the VF characters is that all their dialogue sounds like it was recorded 20 years ago. On used answering machine tape. Over the phone. And on the other end of that phone was a can and some string. And that can and string was recorded and played back into a fast-food drive through intercom off an authentic wax cylinder.
