i get what you're saying but according to the producers they are saying that they want characters from the original VF. like when it started. Eileen didn't come out until VF5 and plus her fan base is nowhere near as big most likely because of this. DOA probably wants people to immediately recognize who the character is from VF even if they really haven't played it. people like Kage, Akira, Sarah, Jackie, Pai, Wolf, and Jeffery are those face characters from VF. so we might see those characters in DOA5 if we do see any more. that's just me looking at it from the same view point that most other games that use guest characters use. Ezio in SCV cause he's popular and has a new game coming out when SCV was being released.

Look at Urban Reign. they used Law and Paul in their game. the game was produced by the same company Namco overall and decided to use characters from another popular game. they used two of very well known and very popular characters that has been with the tekken series for a long time. people that have seen or played a little bit of tekken at anytime most likely recognize these characters.
