Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate

Nice fights dude! Always fun to watch some DOA5 streams. I think you should change your username from "Vincent Rayne" to "Morpheus" now, because from now on when I read your posts, I'll be reading them in Morpheus' voice.
"W... What is Kayane doing?!"
"She is beginning to believe."

Well- how was your attitude?

A user, goes by "Stikku", disagrees with the viewpoint of most of the site, gets into some fights with the members. Doesn't like the way DOA5 is going and others chastise him for it.

He made a topic talking about customization (color edits specifically), didn't attack anyone, provided some mockups of what things would look like with a couple of sets of edited pictures. It was pretty agreeable and there wasn't any fighting in that topic. I think it was more productive than "voicing complaints".

When you say, "let people think and feel whatever they want", you've gotta do that too for others. People are gonna disagree with you, people aren't gonna be accommodating. And that's OK. You present your argument, people say "no", you might try to flesh it out once or twice but I mean, that's it. If people don't agree people don't agree.

You can't antagonize people for having different viewpoints. Even if they antagonize you for it, just leave them alone.

And- I didn't like that they released SCV early. I didn't like that characters didn't come back from IV and I didn't like that SCIII's tutorial mode seemed to have vanished completely. But, I didn't complain about it. 'cause, what would that do? It's a giant circlejerk, you sit around and talk about what could be, and nothing ever actually happens.

or, rather, what could happen, is onlookers could see how negative you're being about the game, and get the wrong idea. Word of mouth is a powerful thing (oh god, SCV knows that).

If you really wanted to change the game, well, I would try to get into contact with Team Ninja. Forum dudes probably can't do much for you.

just played a tourney at WNF. yeah. the same place where those SC5 tourneys were held.

the stream only showed the final 3. so...
i'm there. :D a surprise guest made it too. Kat. she's been like the Kayane of DOA. she's been with broadcast and keeping up with the game ever since it was released to the public so it was nice to see her there. 8+ people managed to show up for the DOA tourney so there will be another next week. maybe you SoCal guys can make it out. that'd be awesome.

So I get that maybe you're being super careful here, but that Kokoro play against Mysticgunn was... crappy.

No launcher attempts, few guaranteed strings, no 46PP or 33PP/22PP. No 236P, 8P6P and variant mix-ups. And you used the weakest Heichu stance transitions. I'm surprised you got away with that kind of play.

That said... I'd be a nervous wreck in that fight. I'd end up mashing PPP and pressing 6P6P too much. And somehow, even if I were to play that crappy, I'd probably lose anyway. So kudos for making Kokoro play look bad and getting away with it. =)

Although Vincent's match with Kat wasn't necessarily "flashy" per se, he did get the job done didn't he? I saw him more of "playing his opponent" instead of going for flashy shit. He noticed things that she was not really answering properly, such as the low counters and "2H+K" (the low kicks) move variations and exploited them. Focusing on using moves that aren't necessary for the task at hand can be a bit of a wrong approach to take because the object of the match is to seek out weaknesses and exploit them instead of having the most technically sound Kokoro.

He did acknowledge earlier that he played better off-stream to be fair.

That chick is just my type... hope you snatched her up after that match. I would marry her on the spot. BTW I already mentioned long ago that Vincent doesn't play for flash, he is solid at his head games and baiting and spacing and crap. Just hard to beat. And in this game you only really need to be good at that to win, since complex combos can be countered.
