Hey guys and today I thought I would show how I spiced up my desktop a bit to make it...Fancier!
This is my desktop layout. As you can see there is no start bar and a dock on the right which I have customized along with a memory monitor in the top left.
I'll start with the start bar! This is really easy and only takes a second. Right click on the start bar and hit Properties. Then select auto-hide taskbar. And done! If you want to see it all you have to do is mouse over it and it comes back.
Next up is the dock. http://rocketdock.com/download . Here is a link to it. Download and install and whatnot and then run it. Simple as that. It will start on the top of your screen so if you want to move it click on the screwdriver that says Dock setting. From here you can change the style and position of it along with its transparency.
Getting custom dock styles. Looking through this trusted rocketdock site you can find a skin for your rocketdock that you like. http://rocketdock.com/addons/skins . Another cool feature is you can also change the icons for things on the rocketdock. This link brings you to the icon page http://rocketdock.com/addons/icons/popular
After you download the files you want you Will Have To Put Them Into Your Rocket Dock Folder. To do this you go to Start>Computer>OS (C:)>Program files(Or program filesx86)>RocketDock. If you installed a skin put it in the skin folder and if you installed a icon pack put it into icons. After you have done this you can change the Style from the dock setting. If you wish to change an icon right click on it and click icon settings.

The image in the back is of course just a wallpaper.
NOW on to the second major thing. Changing your Boot image and and login screen(When you Ctrl alt delete also) Image. The Win7 boot update can be downloaded here http://www.coderforlife.com/projects/win7boot/.
HUGE MAJOR HUGE AWESOMELY HUGE NOTE.- MAKE SURE YOU HAVE SET A WINDOWS RESTORE POINT BEFORE CHANGING BOOT IMAGE OR LOGIN IMAGE BECAUSE THERE IS A SMALL CHANCE IT COULD AFFECT YOUR BOOT UP.
Now after installing the program and opening it you should get this-
From here you can change the text and image for when you login. If you are advanced you can change it to an animation but it is not suggested.
Now if you want to change your login screen download this program- http://www.julien-manici.com/windows_7_logon_background_changer/ This one is really simple. Just open it and then choose a photo and hit apply. That's that.
And That is all. Restart your computer and see if both images work. If you computer starts to not work or wont boot up hit F8 during boot up to bring you to a recovery page where you can ACCESS YOU RESTORE POINT HINT HINT.
