COD: Black OPs

Actually im speaking from the angle of...I found it too easy. I started off bad, but even without using the games broken stuff I was top 3 90% of my games consistently by the time i stopped. I was able to mortor noob tubes straight up mid combat effectively on the move simply by using the radar and a double spam to blanket an area as i passed it from behind a wall then go back to firing with my UMP for LONG range kills. You can literally hide all the way back and spam nades till you get a kill streak and let it spiral to bigger things. Since the tubes had quick fire, reload, blanketing random areas would score you free kills all the time and there's absolutely no counter that's viable. Random deaths in a game where killstreaks affect the game play leads to inconsistent results despite skill. Die at 6 when you need a harrier because a random tube dropped from across the map or was spammed on a hallway to merely guess, means you got knocked way back.

I stopped myself from using the knife because i found the damn thing so OP it took the fun out of it. Round a corner, knife! Literally nothing a person can do and the maps are designed to force you to take the risk of always being vulnerable to a surprise knifing anytime you feel the need to navigate the map. I don't bitch about the knife in BF:BC2 because it's slower, has less range, your character doesnt run like a Kenyan on crack, and the maps dont make it abusable.

I think it was largely agreed upon by it's community it held little competitive value because of how unbalanced it was since most kills resulted from being in the right place at the right time versus reaction, placement, and teamwork. But i heard the original and WaW were fine and I just happened to get the one really bad one.

also the theory that campers prosper in that game...no. Sure it's true with the tubes and explosive spamming and sniping with OMA on the high rise level at the secret area up top (easy nuke!), but run in gun with lightweight/marathon an SMG and knife and you need merely find one hole in a defense and you can easily take out the entire team before it can react. Simply run along the walls and respect the weapons they carry and you can rape people with run n gun over camping. UAV is also another reason knife and run n gun are so good. You can know exactly how to sneak up to them and plan how to pick them off or expose a camper with a nade.

Take into account I find myself good at FPS but not amazing, yet in this game I found so many exploits and strategies that it was very easy to be a one man wrecking force as long as your team was half decent to not feed the enemy kills.

LoL well maybe you have never camped before? I can regularly get a nuke with OMA ACR, Nade launcher, Claymores. So when Im not going for a nuke I can easily get Harrier, Pavelow, and AC 130... haha I duno if you have ever played with that set up but it defintely "prospers" from camping.

All I do most of the time is run and gun period. So I know what you mean about flanking and easily sneaking up and destroying the whole time, Only problem is most of the time good campers arent where the rest of the team is. Also they hide in spots where they can easily hear/see you coming. Run and Guns always get more kills and do better but the campers usually have higher K/D ratios and longer killstreak awards, and they are also the most likely ones to shut down your kill streak reward as a Run and gunner.

The camo in this game is ridiculous, not to mention climbing to weird spots nobody knows about or getting outside fo the map with OMA and a sniper.

Camping is way worse in this one than any other, Modern Warfare One you never saw the whole team camping on the other side, sometimes in MW2 both teams camp so much I just quit out because its slow and stupid. Shooters are cake... Any game where you can hide and take out the enemy with one shot or stab def favors camping. Not to mention how hard it is to shoot someone up in a building in this one when you are running around on the ground. unless they just suck 7 out of 10 times the guy in the window will win.
It wasnt like that in MW1...

I guess you wouldnt know what Im talking about when I say a game that favors campers because you didnt get to play Part one... Part one was so pwn run and gun.... movement, jump knifing people, jump shottying, jump one hit head shots with the m14, Part one you had to actually juke the person or you die. This one you can just lay down and it messes up the "hitbox" as you were saying and shoot. Part one if you lay down and shoot ima ace your ass.

Also it seemed like you just had more overall health in part one so if someone was camping and started shooting at you, then you could juke and actually have time to turn around and shoot them, in MW2 if you have a 3 bar and someone that is camping starts shooting at you first then you are done :(

Theres a huge difference between a 3 and a 4 bar in MW2. Thats most of the reason I quit playing it because its more about connection than skill... but I guess most games are like that, ha its just worse in MW2.

Well the way i started to play near the end was this build:

- UMP (cant remember attachements lol, FMJ or silencer perhaps)
- marathon/lightweight/thing that reveals explosives (i used this to help find campers!)
- sticky nade
- Rafica (attachment?)
- UAV/Predator/Harrier

Basically I would make an aggressive run n gun until a UAV got loaded. If I felt safe I would deploy it, if not save it and wait next life. With a UAV out it was easy to keep a UAV at all times and eventually get a Predator that spiraled into a free harrier. The idea was not to make big power plays, but to have constant kill streaks flowing in resulting in 2-3 harriers per game easy. I would die a lot from the running around, but I would easily off set it by getting consistent K over D at a faster rate than others. So a camper might have a cool 8-1 goin, but I'd have like a 16-7. I would also make sure I would also focus on flanking ,so as a teammate I was helping people get out of pressure and move up so that I could assume their K/D got higher as well.

Yes , camping is powerful in MW2 while running and gunning isn't as good under NORMAL circumstances. But as the knife and UMP are the best weapons in the game, using marathon, lightweight, and commando with them to just run around and get lucky can get you a nuke pretty much randomly and with almost no effort. MW2 is a stupid, easy game. The real fun I had with it was when I was just messing around with riot shield and throwing knife with scavenger and the PP2000. Not exactly a class that will be getting nukes or packing a good k/d, but it was also the only tactic that made MW2 interesting at all for me.

Well enough bitching over MW2, I think it's one of the biggest gaming disappointments in history, but my focus is on how this new game is...so keep us updated.
