Castlevania Judgment

True but I'm not about to buy one. XD
I just got a $400 PS3 BC 80g,still recovering from that purchase. ^^;

Well, i really meant that in the context of me or anyone else selling ours right now. Probably not too much of a demand anymore since it appears to be everywhere.

so, ive always been a HUGE fan of the castlevania games. Almost blindly so. Ive owned almost every castlevania game regardless of even owning the system.

When I heard about this game, I got really excited, and really scared at the same time. It has huge potential for neatness, but its also not an established series and quite frankly if you dont know what youre doing with fighting games, chances are youre going to make a flop.

That being said, i swallowed my pride and went out and bought the game today. I figured even if it was trash, i would still get to see a few hours worth of visual candy. (Personally, i dont hate the new designs. Yes i prefer the old ones, but i rather like some of the new ones. Sypha and Trevor in particular.)

Ive always had fun with powerstone ish games, so what the hell.

Turns out ive been very pleasantly surprised. The game is just fun. Its not super deep, but it has a little bit of depth. The camera problems can get annoying at times, but its honestly minor. Theres a neat system that involves canceling out normal strings into jumps, specials, or items, or guard breakers. Played a few matches online, had a really fun time with it. No pressure trying to get better for tourneys, so it was just a fun time. The online ran really smooth too.

Anyone that doesnt have it and considering it have any questions?

i still think castlevania 64 is the best of all the 3D games. the only real issue the game has is the really anal controls, but that is easy to adjust too.

Interesting Dave. I was about to forget this game and decide to look elsewhere but you have reignited my interest for it. I read a review shortly after it's release saying pretty much exactly what you just said. Now i have what i believe to be a reliable source on the worth of this game. Looks like i'll be picking this one up pretty soon. Hopefully, you and i can get some matches in at some point(as well as more Soulcalibur matches).
