I apologize for my poor spelling in my first post, I was typing it using Swype with my Nexus 7; I'm on my laptop now.

Anyway, I'll just keep trying out different characters until I get it. Eventually I'll crawl out of my horrible W/L ratio for online mode ;P

Welcome aboard! I found that the sword and shield users are the best for working on your fundamentals, then just pick someone else to fill in whatever other needs you have.

Don't give up on Sieg, though. He's got a little of everything you need in a good character, and once you feel you have a grasp on how to really play the game, you may be coming back to him. I've been learning stuff from all the characters (except Viola), and I still pick up my Pat or Omega when I want to get work done right.

BTW - Did the OP ever settle on a main?

Why yes I did! For those of you who are interested, I went with my main from Tekken: Yoshimitsu!

It's different trading 10 hit combos for shorter ones that string together nice, but I'm getting the hang of it. I almost never see any Yoshi players online (PS3) so I assume my use of him is throwing people off their game. I've been winning alot more lately; at the very least I don't get sweep'd as often.

Anyways, Yoshi is kind of a complex character like Tekken's Yoshi. However if you're willing to learn him, head on over here.

Now if you're on XBL, I would play and teach you with what I know. However, try hitting up some peeps here who play Yoshi in PSN.
