This is strictly your opinion. You cant just say that america killed over 500 thousand people in the name of getting one man as if it was fact, it simply isn't. You forget one of the main reasons for the war in Iraq was the mass genocide of the Iraqi people by Saddam Hussein. He is responsible for close to a MILLION deaths of his own people just like Manjitou said.
oh i am certainly not stating that as a fact. in fact if you reread what you quoted from me, you will see that i directly called it bullshit. i was simply trying to explain how one could argue that point, and why some people may perceive it that way.
also i'd like to point out that when other nations are engaged in genocide...hutus-tutsis...israeli-palestinian...others that i don't feel like looking up...the united states has never felt a need to step in. hell we didn't even get involved with the nazi genocide until it became a clear threat to our allies and eventually our own nation. why should this be any different.
i'd also like to point out that it is important to look at everything from multiple angles. saddam was, in fact, killing a faction of his own people, who were trying to break away from iraq and form their own nation and take a majority of his resources with them.
i can think of another country that, when the southern half tried to break away and form a new nation and take a majority of resources with them, waged the bloodiest war in their entire history to preserve the unity of the nation. can you?
