best controller to play SC IV with ?

hi guys, I'm new here. so forgive the ignorance , but just wondering what's the easiest or best controller to play soul calibur with? I'm actually a smash bros player but my game is dying due to the next game soon to be dropping and I'm just looking for a another fighting game to play with my friends. I don't really wanna buy a fight stick bc I'm not trying be that try hard (lol) but the 360 controller just seems limited. any advice on controllers I could try out ? or should I just stick with 360?
 
You should probably play SCV seeing as its the current competitive calibur game..... As far as best controllers for calibur go its really up to the player to see what they're comfortable with. If you prefer analog to dpad you should go with an xbox controller. If you prefer dpad then ps3's dualshock 3 is the better choice, the ps4 pad is another good choice from what i've heard for dpad users. There are also arcade sticks and 3rd party fight pads that you could consider. No controller really has an edge execution wise it really comes down to preference. One thing you might want to consider is that tourneys for calibur are played on ps3 for the most part if you plan on competing.
 
ignore the tourney stuff, just read your whole post.... the rest should still apply to other calibur games tho
