AstralHeat.com WTF?!?

I think AH.com is gone for good.... that's too bad cause it was a good alternative to the more dustloop, that website was too "close" for non-elite.

Shoryuken.com then =/?

LOL at the tag of this thread:
ur_face, astralheatcom, astralheat_is_dumb, bb_killed_sc, boo_hoo, cry_moar, id_cry_more, id_stop_crying, i_support_ah, norm!, q.q, waaaahmbulance, wtf

Destructive-nature.com alternative to AH and its a nice little site

Wait if he took it down then whats up with the tourney I was close to the finals I could have won NOOOOOOO free membership gone

What is the point of this website? Or better yet where is going?
I saw the shit storm on dustloop about this where it seemed like the only supporters were 8way members and some other very adamant guy. So I'm just curious of what the goal is of this site.

Dustloop has strats, match making, vids, and all are easy to find. So is AH just for online tourneys, RSVPs, and a home page? Seriously a new website was just stupid, and all it does is a fracture the community.

So is the goal of this to try to shut down dustloop? A site that has actually been recognized by the developers for it's excellence. I'm just curious.

Well, it's mainly that some (many) Dustloopers tend to have an elitist windbag attitude. They don't moderate their forums well, but don't hesitate to ban people for attempting to expand the community to other sites. Not to mention, they get upset at SRK postings from their forums too.

I recall them arguing in favor of keeping Slayer's throw infinite, Sol's dust-loop (granted, there was a much better discussion about that), and the overall community just had this unwelcoming attitude to new players. They haven't changed much since Blazblue, though.

They're kind of the reason why Guilty Gear's popularity dwindled, and they're also the reason that Blazblue's community in the US is so small.

To me, establishing Astralheat seemed like a good idea. Get one of the premiere sites for Soul Calibur discussion - a community with HUGE fanbase, to host a sister site to a lesser known fighting game. Grow a niche, establish a new community, or expand it. Either way, I thought it was a good idea. Shame it didn't pan out that way.

I guess it could've used some more advertising.
