Arcade stick question

I got the black stick in my room now (Rayikins). I must say the quality is pretty shoddy. I would not trust it. it's in my room broken because when I opened it up to see what issue it had, the wires were brittle and snapped, plastic pieces were chipped, and one of the micro switchs for the shaft was not pushing all the way out. i don't like the SFIV SE (love the TE tho). you may want to go with the SC4 Hori. it's not bad, not the est but it'll get you by. If you want slide buttons, by SANWAS to drop in, but you'll need to have a soldering kit.b

by pad, you mean regular controllers right? i just got SC4 for my ps3

Well there are other pads per se. If you can game on a DDR pad and bust out iCS/iSS...please do so.

is a stick really needed for top play at soul calibur 4? do the top players use it. i know for street fighter 4 that is the case, but for SC4?

Lol so i bought a stick and found i sucked balls with it :) Pad is fine.

Stick takes time. Don't think you'll instantly be better just cause you pick one up. It takes some new muscle retraining. Took me a full month for my stick playing to beat out my pad and the whole time i was like "damnit, $150 down and this isn't working out". Now my stick Ivy is far superior to my pad Ivy. Keep at it.
