Anyone know how to mod an arcade stick?

I have a hori ex2 soul calibur 4 limited edition stick, but it has a square gate... Would I need to get anything other than an octagon gate to make it an octagon stick versus a square? When I open the case of the stick, what would I need to do to switch them?

Marginal, that's so complicated for something so simple!

OP, that's all you want to do?

1. Buy your 8 way gate. (Sanwa GT-Y)
2. Hold the gate up to the EX2 stock restrictor.
3. Drill matching holes through the Sanwa GT-Y. There are holes that directly match up, and even little indentions that match up exactly. If your home depot is awesome, buy the drill bit, bring it back, and they'll "sample" drill your piece for you.
4. Take off the crappy EX2 stock restrictor.
5. Put on your awesome Sanwa GT-Y.
6. Screw the restrictor on.
7. Put the back plate on.
8. ...
9. ...Profit?
